The Endrizzi Site

Photo Gallery

My great-great-grandparents from Spormaggiore, Italy.  Ema Maria (maiden name Flabbi, 1869-1945) and Luigi Osti (1867-1937).

Evaristo Tanel (1892-1982) made something like 17 trips back and forth from Italy to the U.S.  He lived an extremely long life, dying in 1982 in Italy.  His wife and family stayed in Wisconsin.

Carolina (nee Zeni, 1845-1931) and Giacobbe Endrizzi (1838-1915) of Cavedago, Italy.   They had at least 13 children ... geez!  Their daughter Celestina (pictured lower down the page) married her cousin Giustino Endrizzi (pictured below), who was my great grandfather.

My great grandparents were from Cavedago, Italy: Celestina and Giustino Endrizzi (1884-1965).  They were 1st cousins!  Giustino served in the Austrian army in WWI, since the area was Austrian until after the war.  Austria, being on the losing side, ceded the South Tyrol to Italy.  Hence, we are Italian (sort of)!

The dialect spoken in the area, "Non-ish", apparently no longer exists, as the schooling has gotten better.  When the American immigrants go back and talk, everyone thinks they are a bit odd.

Giustino and Celestina Endrizzi (1893-1961) later in life (perhaps around 1940) after moving to Milwaukee, WI.

Accordion band.  I would love to know if anyone knows who these people are.

My grandparents: Germano (1914-1996) and Julia (nee Tanel) Endrizzi, who came to Milwaukee, WI in the 1930s.  He was a carpenter, and served in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during WWII.  In the 1950s, he built a house for the family on 57th Street, where they lived until 1995.

Julia held it all together with lots of shrieking and cooking.  I can say that, since at 86, Julia isn't very technically oriented, and rarely gets on the Internet these days!  Shhhhhhhhh!  She knows how to make all the family favorites, such as polenta, patao, gnocchi, canederli, etc.

My parents: (left to right) Judith (nee Rehorst) and Raymond Endrizzi married at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI in 1963.

At the far right, my aunt Rita Endrizzi (married name Reinke).

My father spent over 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring a Commander in 1984.  He did tours in Norfolk, VA; Washington, DC; Yokohama, Japan; Jacksonville, FL; Kenitra, Morocco; Augsburg, Germany and Tampa, FL.  Mom had to follow and change diapers.

Me (Dan) and my wife Colleen (nee Martens) and our daughter Tanel Endrizzi taken in 2005 in Minneapolis, MN.

Pictures of new baby Marcus.
